Yesterday evening after closing up the shop I went down to the Suir to see how the water levels were. The Nire was running very clear so I decided to try and fish the fly at the mouth of the river for an hour. I hooked this fantastic fish which was in the region or 16/18lbs - sea liced and a bar of silver. The water is still very high, but starting to clear.
Conditions for the next few days are really good. If the levels start to drop with no more rain the river should be packed with fish.[gallery link="file" columns="6"]
