Its tributaries the Nire, Tar and Anner offer exceptional fishing, these smaller rivers are gin clear and have easy wading.
We have access to close to 20 miles of private fishing for our clients use all of which is no more than 10 mins drive from our centre. In fact much of the fishing is just 5 mins away!
River Suir

The main hatches are BWO, Caddis, Spurwing, black gnats etc. We use a lot of small dries, mainly Klinkhammers, Comparaduns, Elk hair caddis, and small bead heads.
Suitable equipment for the fishing the Suir is a 9ft #4/5 Line 6X & 7X leaders.
River Nire
River Nire
A gin clear spate/freestone river flowing from the Comeragh Mountains through the Nire Valley until its confluence with the river Suir. It is a narrow river (12 m/35 ft) with a ripple and pool formation. Access is easy/moderate but wading is over moderate sized rocks.
A lime stone river very similar to the south of England chalkstreams. A wide (45 ft/15 m), shallow river, with a healthy growth of flowering ranunculus weed. The bottom is level, making wading easy. It is noted for its remarkable dry fly fishing due to the shallow nature of the river.
River Tar
The river has a good stock of fish from 20 to 30 cm as well as some much larger fish up to 45 cm
River Anner
Another stunning tributary of the Suir, the river Anner flows through rich pastureland and has amazing hatches and good stocks of large trout.
