Andrew Ryan
Andrew Ryan is one of Ireland’s best know fly fishing instructors and guides. Owner of Clonanav Fly Fishing School and Shop he has been guiding for over 20 years on the river Suir and tributaries. He first qualified as a REFFIS Instructor in 1993 at the age of only 18; one of the youngest instructors to ever be awarded the qualification. In 2001 he passed the much coveted APGAI UK exam at the age of only 26. In 2005 Andrew passed the FFF masters exam in NJ in the USA and managed to complete the “double whammy” passing both the certified and masters exam in one weekend.
Andrew Ryan is a member of APGAI – Ireland, and holds the FFF Masters and THCI which are the highest casting instruction qualifications in the world. He also holds APGAI, REFFIS, & STANIC Certificates. Andrew has been instructing at Clonanav since 1992 and is widely recognised as an expert on dry fly fishing in Ireland and he has also instructed in Spain, Argentina and the USA
Kevin Shone
Kevin has been working as part of the Clonanav team for the past few years. He is an excellent guide with intimate knowledge of all the rivers and streams we fish. He has been fishing this area since he was a young age giving him lots of experience on the techniques and flies used on our waters. An avid fly tier some of his patterns are now being used by us in our store. With his relaxed demeanour a day on the river with Kevin is always fun.
Andrew Ryan
Con is a lifelong angler on the Suir, his main interest is two handed fishing for atlantic salmon. He is also an accomplished trout angler. He has a vast knowledge of the Suir and tributaries from fishing the area for a lifetime. An excellent fly dresser he ties some amazing and deadly patters for salmon on the Suir. A day on the river with Con is a learning experience even for seasoned anglers!
