Iron Blues

The past few days have seen some great hatches of Iron Blue duns on the river. The trout have been feeding on them in the afternoon from about 2.30 on wards. Earlier in the week we had a lot of heavy rain which brought water levels up and flooded most of the rivers. This really freshened things up and now the fishing is really improving.
North east winds are making the casting and conditions difficult and are set to continue into next week. As soon as we get some good weather fishing should really improve. I was out on Thursday and Friday with Conor Lynch and we had some good but hard earned fish. We caught some on IBDs and some on PTN flashbacks.
