Paul Whelan from Fortwilliam estate kindly asked me to help out with some filming for RTE yesterday evening. Celebrity chef Kevin Dundon from Dunbrody house is filming a new series around Ireland using local ingredients. His objective was to catch a trout in a river and cook it during the series.
Conditions were good and and there were a few fish rising. We fished the Ellis beat at Fortwilliam using mainly small tungsten PTN nymphs and long leaders. Mossy Browne landed on small trout, on nymphs, but Kevin did really well and caught a fish over 2lbs on a tri bead bomber.
