Last night brought some much needed rain. The water has come up a little with a 2 or 3 inch rise in the Suir and Nire. Even though it is only a slight rise it has made a big difference. It has improved water flow and temperatures. The trout fishing vastly improved today with large numbers of fish fishing - its amazing what a little rain can do.

I was guiding Jan and Ton from the Netherlands, and they had a fantastic day. Both anglers had a PB on the largest fish they have ever caught, and both on dry fly. The also had a good number of smaller fish. Both and Jan and Ton are newcomers to Ireland, and I doubt this will be their last trip!
Clonanav regular Alec Birchall also had some amazing fishing. Alec had some of the best fishing he has ever had here with 12 fish today and 17 yesterday - with some fish over 2lbs.
