New Youtube Videos

With the bad weather the last few days I have had a chance to put together some videos from this season. I have plenty of more footage that I will be putting together over the next few weeks.
Streamer Fishing
This short video is a demo of streamer fishing at Clonanav Fly Fishing. This technique is ideal for fishing in high water conditions. This was the first flood we had on the river in months . With water levels up, both dry fly and nymph fishing can be difficult, so I usually turn to streamer fishing. The setup used was a Hardy Zenith Sintrix 9ft # 5 rod with a 5wt line. I usually use a fast sinking line for even higher water conditions, but did not have one with me on this day. However using a heavy streamer it will still get down to a reasonable depth.
Dod Frasers First Salmon
Dod fished with us this year in mid September. Dod is a seasoned trout angler but this was his first time fishing for atlantic salmon and a two handed rod and shooting head set up. His casting really came on and on his second day ever with a spey rod he landed a 17lb salmon on the river Blackwater at Fortwilliam Estate Fisheries. In fact Dods fish was the largest fish landed for the season on the Fortwilliam beats.
