Thomas & Thomas at Clonanav Fly Fishing

Exclusive to Clonanav Fly Fishing in Ireland

The Thomas & Thomas story, in many respects, is a direct reflection of nearly a half-century evolution in the fly-fishing industry, a tumultuous yet rewarding era of unprecedented social, cultural and technological change. An era that has seen a scientific and environmental renaissance, an awakening in the appreciation of handcrafted quality and unimaginable adoption of our sport.  Hence at Clonanav we have decided that these rods represent true craftsmanship and truly represent the values we admire in fly fishing.

Established in 1969 by legendary rod builders Tom Dorsey and Tom Maxwell, company ownership evolved over time. Over the years the fundamental beliefs, values and singularity of purpose behind Thomas & Thomas were challenged but never abandoned. To this day, this purpose has kept Tom Dorsey creating the unrivaled Thomas & Thomas fly rods.

‘The relentless pursuit of innovation, superior quality and uncompromising performance in creation of the world’s finest handcrafted fly rods.’

And, it is this purpose which first attracted current owner, fly fishing enthusiast and entrepreneur Neville Orsmond. Acquiring the company in 2014, Neville and Tom share more than a common love and passion for creating superior fly rods, they share a vision – the revitalization of the Thomas & Thomas brand.

The success of this collaboration and shared purpose is evident today in the most recent portfolio of newly designed Thomas & Thomas fly rods. These are fly rods of uncompromising beauty and performance – in your hand and on the water.
