Fantastic Hardy/Greys Demo Day
1 |
A big thank you to all who attended our Hardy/Greys demo day last Saturday. The day was a great success with large numbers attending throughout the day. Also a big thank you to Tom Sullivan, Hardy/Greys rep for Ireland who was in attendance to give advice and demos. APGAI Ireland members were also in attendance to give advice and help throughout the day as they held one of our CPD weekends at Clonanav
The day kicked off with a river techniques course on the Nire, where some of the latest fishing techniques were demonstrated including dry fly, nymphing, french nymphing and streamer fishing. The water levels were high due to rain, but a few fish did oblige in taking the fly but only one was landed!
Fly tying took place in the tuition room of our shop with some amazing patterns being tied by APGAI Ireland members Arthur Greenwood and Joe Stitt.
Later in the day Tom Sullivan a lough style expert gave a very informative talk on his tackle bag and the reasons behind some of his lake fishing strategies at our casing lakes. This was very well received and was very popular with attendees.
In the afternoon those who attended were able to test and try any of the latest range of rods from Hardy and Greys. Andrew Ryan gave a spey casting demonstration using the latest ranges of double handed rods from Hardy, including the Zenith and Marksman ranges
