Guiding a Guide
1 |
It was with great pleasure that the last few days I guided Phil Gay fellow FFF Instructor and MCI. I first met Phil in 2005 in Somerset, NJ, USA where he tested me for my FFF Masters exam. We became friends and he has fished here several times. This visit he was accompanied by his wife Carol and friends Rob and Robyn Morris.
It is not often you get a chance to guide such a skilled caster and angler and also to have the fun of guiding another guide. Many of our expressions mannerisms (good and bad!) are similar. I suppose no matter where in the world you guide the aim is the help the client to have a good time and catch some fish.
We had a great few days on the rivers catching plenty of amazing trout. The fishing was not the easiest with high winds and cold temperatures for June, but skilled anglers can overcome this!
