Hi, my name is Tim Wood.
I am from the West Midland in the UK but spend most of my spare time fishing the beautiful South Wales rivers. I was introduced to fishing by my grandfather but didn't really get into fishing until later in life.
I have been lucky enough to have demonstrated at most fly fairs and fly tying clubs, which I closely work with Partridge of Redditch and Veniard. I have had articles in numerous magazines for my fly patterns. I have also won a few competitions in fly tying.
My main passion is Brown Trout and Grayling. I have been lucky enough to meet some fantastic people which has taken me to some great rivers in different parts of the world, such as Iceland, Sweden and Bosnia. Bosnia has become a soft spot for me. I enjoy sight fishing for the huge Grayling.
During the summer months I can be found on the great Welsh rivers targeting Brown Trout on dry fly.
Darryl is the UK and Ireland Sales Director for Fishing Matters whose brands include Partridge of Redditch, Sprite, Cox & Rawle, Geoff Anderson and Marryat Rods. He lives in Northern Ireland where he grew up fishing for wild brownies on his local Rivers Lagan and Bann and this remains his passion to this day. Darryl specializes in all aspects of river nymph fishing and fly tying.
Well known River Suir angling personality and expert George McGrath will be tying at the weekend and giving insight into his fishing techniques and patterns that he uses to great success on the river. His Youtube channel is very popular - Gundog & Fly,on this channel you join me on my Flyfishing and Gundog training adventures, learn rivercraft and trout fishing strategies, learn to tie deadly flies, how to train your gundog puppy, from early days to polished gundog and much more.. https://www.youtube.com/user/springerspanielful/featured
Trevor Greene has been fishing for almost 60 years. He mainly fishes for trout on the western loughs particularly Loughs Melvin and Conn. He also dabbles in salmon and sea trout fishing again in the west of Ireland. Closer to home he spends a lot of his autumn fishing for the Lough Neagh trout the dollaghan after it enters the rivers on its spawning run.
He has fished at inter-provincial level but prefers purely recreational fishing in a generally traditional style. That is reflected in his fly tying where he concentrates on traditional patterns saying that “……flies only get to be traditional because they work!”
I’m Originally from County Galway but now reside in Cavan Town Ireland. I’m a member of the Game Angling Instructors’ Association and hold the Qualification in Fly Dressing Instructor. I come under the of KsG Flies.
I do various disciplines of fishing from Pike Fishing in the winter, Salmon Fishing on the Rivers Moy and Drowes, Sea Fishing on Clew Bay where i caught a 13ib Pollack and Trout Fishing Rivers and Loughs of Ireland. Majority of my Trout Fishing is on the majestic Lough Sheelin chasing the powerful Lough Sheelin Trout.
Most of the fly Demonstrations have been in Ireland tying at the wonderful Irish Fly Fair, Foxford Riverfest on the River Moy, Ballina Salmon Festival with the Game Angling Instructors. Last Year my Mayfly Patterns have been published in Trout and Salmon and Irish Country Sports.
My name is Shane Hickey. I am a fly angler and tyer from Limerick city. I first started fly fishing about 20 years ago for brown trout on the Shannon and it’s tributary the Mulkear, where my favourite method quickly became dry fly fishing. I am very interested in the different species of insects that our trout feed on and I have extensive experience of still water fly fishing for trout using all methods from buzzer to dry fly. Now my number one interest is salmon fly fishing and tying salmon flies, also love to dye most of my own fly materials. I have a huge interest double handed fly casting and tournament casting. I have been a two time winner of the local Spey O Mega tournament and the winner of the Foxford Riverfest Irish open spey casting championship. I am very happy to be part of silverfishing pro fly tying team
