Ian Mackenzie

Retired from full time employment as Technical Manager at Fulling Mill Ltd., responsible for the production of up to 350,000 flies per month and development of new patterns I now have more time to fish.

Although retired I tie numbers of flies for personal customers ranging from small dries to Tigerfish flies. Most things are possible, just ask.

At the show I will be tying a selection of patterns suitable for stillwaters in the UK and Ireland

Philip Varney

We also have manager Philip Varney from Veniard. Philip will be performing some fly tying and offering advice and information on all the latest products from Veniard.

Come and join us for a great weekend!

John Maduro

I tie mainly Saltwater patterns for Bass, seatrout, pollock. But back home in the Caribbean from a Dutch island called Aruba I grew tying flies for Bonefish and Permit , been tying for over 10 years and joined the Ahrex , FlyCo and Deercreek pro team over a year ago.
Looking forward to the Flyfair and meet all the other amazing Flydressers.

Trevor Greene

Trevor Greene has been fishing for almost 60 years. He mainly fishes for trout on the western loughs particularly Loughs Melvin and Conn. He also dabbles in salmon and sea trout fishing again in the west of Ireland. Closer to home he spends a lot of his autumn fishing for the Lough Neagh trout the dollaghan after it enters the rivers on its spawning run.

He has fished at inter-provincial level but prefers purely recreational fishing in a generally traditional style. That is reflected in his fly tying where he concentrates on traditional patterns saying that “……flies only get to be traditional because they work!”

Shane Hickey

My name is Shane Hickey. I am a fly angler and tyer from Limerick city. I first started fly fishing about 20 years ago for brown trout on the Shannon and it’s tributary the Mulkear, where my favourite method quickly became dry fly fishing. I am very interested in the different species of insects that our trout feed on and I have extensive experience of still water fly fishing for trout using all methods from buzzer to dry fly. Now my number one interest is salmon fly fishing and tying salmon flies, also love to dye most of my own fly materials. I have a huge interest double handed fly casting and tournament casting. I have been a two time winner of the local Spey O Mega tournament and the winner of the Foxford Riverfest Irish open spey casting championship. I am very happy to be part of silverfishing pro fly tying team
